Liverpool Recalled Youngster

Liverpool youngster, Nathaniel Philips has been recalled back to Liverpool after an agreement was reached with sttugart for his loan spell to end.

The defender will return at the beginning of January and is expected to feature in the FA cup third round clash with local rivals Everton.

The club wrote:

We have reached an agreement with sttugart forNathaniel Philips to return from his loan spell in January.

Philips will return at the begining of next month and
be eligible for Red matches, starting with the FA
cup tie against Everton. Liverpool Fc (@LFC)
December 27.

Philips was sent on loan to the German second division side In the summer and has made 11
appearances in all competitions.

The reds have been plagued with injury crisis In both defence and midfield, with centre backs, Joel
Matip and Dejan Lovren currently out injured.

Philips 22, will provide backup for Virgil Van Dijk and Joe Gomez in defence.

It is expected Jurgen Klopp will name a weakened side in their FA cup derby against Everton on
January 5,with focus firmly on winning the Premier League.

Philips was impressive for Liverpool during their pre season tour in United States,with Jurgen Klopp playing a role in securing a loan deal to Stuggart for the defender.

Philips told BILD earlier this year

” I told Jurgen Klopp about the offers I had, Stuggart wasn’t one of them. ” The manager was not enthusiastic about the options and I think he called Sven Mus shortly after our meeting. ” Klopp congratulated me on the move.
