English premier league preview: week 5

Another week has almost passed us by, and
Saturday is quickly approaching for the first
games of Round 5 action in the 2019-20
English Premier League.
Both clubs Manchester united and liverpool continued their
fine runs of form as they remain on the top of
the pile. Liecester found another way to victory,
while tottenham were held to a dissapointing draw by arsenal as Watford failed to improve, there -by sacking their coach during the week

This weekend sees some great top table
matchups as of the table at the end of last
season. Manchester united plays against Liecester in a
rematch of the game that cost the Reds champions league action thid season.
Liecester and manchester united have no doubt
the biggest game of the week as the Fox will
travel north to play in Old Trafford.
It looks to be another exciting and action-
packed weekend of action in the Barclays
Premier League, and it is sure to get your heart
pumping and your blood moving.

Liverpool vs Newcastle united

Date: 14/9/19
Venue: Anfield
Time: 12:30pm

Liverpool vs Newcastle united

The latest round of Premier League matches gets
underway at Anfield, the first after the international
break, when Liverpool welcomes Newcastle United.
The Reds are the only team with a perfect record
this season, no surprises they lead the log.
They face a Newcastle team that were winners on
their last away trip at Tottenham Hotspur (their only
league win of the campaign) but have found it
extremely tough playing away at Anfield.
Considering travel time across different continents
and the upcoming UEFA Champions League games,
we expect Jurgen Klopp to rotate his squad, giving
one or two of his fringe players a start.
Nevertheless, Newcastle shouldn’t pose a worry to
Liverpool, who should win comfortably with a clean
sheet.
Prediction: Liverpool 3 – 0 NUFC

Brighton vs Burnley

Date: 14/9/19
Venue: Amex Stadium
Time: 3:00pm
Both Brighton and Burnley require a big response
after a mixed performance and result in the opening
four matches.
The Clarets could be pardoned for failing to add to
the opening day win, winless in their last three
which included fixtures against Arsenal and
Liverpool.
Brighton likewise have failed to add to their
smashing opening day victory away to Watford,
losing and failing to score in successive matches.
Burnley have shown better team display and desire
in comparison to the opposition and we tip them to
extend that unbeaten record at the Amex Stadium
with a road win.
Prediction: Brighton 1 – 2 Burnley

Manchester United vs Leicester city

Date: 14/9/19
Venue: Old Trafford
Time: 3:00pm

Manchester United will hope for improved fortunes
as they welcome Leicester City to Old Trafford.
The Red Devils’ blistering start to the season has
fast faded away, winless in their last three matches
and looking increasingly suffering from the absence
of an on-field leader and incapable of keeping a
clean sheet.
The above highlighted factors could hurt United
against an unbeaten Foxes’ team that have looked
solid, with the creativity of James Maddison and
goals of Jamie Vardy, who just loves to repeatedly
strike past David De Gea.
We tip both teams to settle for a draw, a fourth
winless streak for the hosts which should lead to
grumbling amongst the club faithful’s.
Prediction: Man Utd 1 – 1 Leicester

Sheffield United vs. Southampton

Date: 14/9/19
Venue: Bramall Lane
Time: 3:00pm

Southampton are away at Sheffield United in what
represents a tricky fixture for the Saints.
The Blades had a strong end to the opening phase
of the league, drawing away at Chelsea, added to
impressive home performances against Crystal
Palace and Leicester City.
Despite having a better and experienced squad,
Southampton could be very unpredictable and we
tip Sheffield to upset the visitors and continue their
impressive start to life in the top division.
Prediction: Sheffield 2 – 3 Southampton

Tottenham vs. Crystal Palace

Date: 14/9/19
Venue: Tottenham Hotspur Stadium
Time: 3:00pm

Tottenham Hotspur welcomes Crystal Palace to the
Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, in a London derby with
a rather interesting twist.
The Eagles head into the fixture fourth on the table,
five spots ahead of their more illustrious host, a
rarity due to the pedigree of both teams.
Palace have looked solid this term and even
secured a victory at Manchester United in their last
away fixture, a potential worry for Spurs, who were
beaten at home by Newcastle United three weeks
ago.
However, we don’t expect Spurs to falter for a
second successive match in front of their home
fans and predict a deserved victory for Tottenham.
Prediction: Spurs 3 – 1 Palace

Wolverhampton vs. Chelsea

Date: 14/9/19
Venue: Molineux Stadium
Time: 3:00pm

Chelsea travel away to Wolverhampton in a
potentially tricky fixture for Frank Lampard and the
Blues.
A steadier and experienced Chelsea side were
beaten on this ground last season, so
understandably there could be fears regarding the
present crop of players, who aren’t yet at that level
of grinding out results despite impressive displays.
For a winless Wolves they could maximise the
opportunity of hosting a heavyweight to clinch a
first victory of the season, but that will be without
the services of trusted centre back Willy Boly, who
is suspended.
We tip Wolves to stun Chelsea, a bad preparation
for the Blues’ upcoming UEFA Champions League
fixture.
Prediction: ov3.5 goals

Norwich vs. Man City

Date: 14/9/19
Venue: Carrow Road
Time: 5:30pm

Life in the topflight could get further difficult for
19th-place Norwich City who entertain champions
Manchester City.
The Canaries’ young and talented squad have
impressed in patches this term, but have failed to
fire against Liverpool and Chelsea, a worry facing
another one of the top four teams.
We tip Manchester City, whose coach Pep Guardiola
should rotate his squad, notably Joao Cancelo in for
Kyle Walker at right-back and John Stones to
partner Nicolas Otamendi, for a comfortable away
win, though Teemu Pukki is favoured to extend his
hot scoring streak against the big guns.
Prediction: ov3.5

Bournemouth vs. Everton

Date: 15/9/19
Venue: Vitality Stadium
Time 2:00pm

Bournemouth hosts Everton in a potentially high
scoring fixture. Both teams’ defence have been far
from watertight and they could expose their
weaknesses.
A major worry for Marco Silva is his team’s inability
to score on the road in the previous two games, but
he can be hopefully of finally getting it right with his
centre forward selection, Moise Kean getting ever
closer to opening his Everton account.
We tip the Cherries for a narrow victory in an open
and exciting game.
Prediction: Bournemouth 3 – 2 Everton

Watford vs. Arsenal

Date: 15/9/19
Venue: Vicarage Road
Time: 4:30pm

Quique Sanches Flores makes his second Watford
managerial debut when his side entertains Arsenal.
The Hornets have made a dreadful start to the
campaign, picking up just the solitary point at
Newcastle United as they remain winless and sit
uncomfortably at the bottom.
Their fortunes might not improve much against an
Arsenal side, who have looked pretty steady and
shouldn’t entertain much fears against the hosts
who now parade former Gunner Danny Welbeck in
attack, but an away clean sheet shouldn’t be
expected.
Prediction: Over 2.5

Aston villa vs West Ham

Date: 16/9/19
Venue: Villa Park
Time: 8:00pm

Villa Park comes alive in the final game of game-
week 5 when Aston Villa hosts West Ham United on
Monday night.
The Villains haven’t found their rhythm despite
heavy summer recruitment’s, occupying the first
relegation spot, a major reason why they need to
capitalise on home advantage.
However, we don’t expect them to upset the
Hammers, who we tip for a third straight victory.
Prediction: Aston Villa 1 – 2 West Ham
