The Sun report that Chelsea could recall their talent, if so they wish
Conor Gallagher became a pivotal figure for the Championship side, Charlton, this season, scoring 5 goals in 12 games, a more-than-decent result for a midfielder in his first season in pro football.
While Charlton manager Lee Bowyer is obviously desperate to keep the 19-year-old, he might be denied this opportunity.
According to The Sun, Chelsea have a break clause in Gallagher’s loan deal. In other words, the Blues could bring the talented midfielder back to the Stamford Bridge. Moreover, they could opt to loan Connor to some other Championship side or sell him altogether, the Sun claim.
The Blues, nevertheless, are more likely to let Gallagher continue his development under a former Leeds midfielder Lee Bowyer.
Our loan manager Claude Makelele has reportedly met Charlton boss to talk about Gallagher’s progress and told the club that for now Charlton are the best place for the 19-year-old.
Gallagher, meanwhile, was handed his first competitive debut for England U21s last Friday and scored the second goal in their 3-0 win over Albania.
