Tammy Abraham says he would ‘love’ to face Barcelona in the Champions League last 16 as he wants to test himself against the world’s best teams.
The young striker broke the deadlock against Lille on Tuesday night before Cesar Azpilicueta doubled Chelsea’s advantage with ten minutes remaining of the first half.
Loic Remy came back to haunt the Blues with a 78th-minute strike at Stamford Bridge but Frank Lampard’s side managed to hold on to their narrow lead to book their place in the knockout stages.
Abraham, who scored his 13th of the season in the Group H clash, is understandably bursting with confidence ahead of Monday’s
draw.
The England international would relish the chance to face a club of Barca’s stature in the next round and insists Chelsea are ‘ready
for anyone’.
‘This is exciting, very exciting. We’re never ones to back down from a challenge,’ Abraham said after Chelsea’s 2-1 victory over
Lille.
‘We want to play against the best teams in the world and play in the best stadiums in the world.
‘No fear. We’re ready for anyone. I would love
it if it is playing at the Nou Camp or somewhere I’ve never played before.’
