London club reportedly join chase for Chelsea unwanted man Olivier Giroud

  • Giroud is set to leave Chelsea in January.

  • Crystal Palace are ready to satisfy his contract demands.

  • With Inter Milan negotiations stalled, Palace have a perfect window of opportunity.

According to the Italian media FC Inter News, Crystal Palace have emerged as the newest club to join the pack of suitors for the striker Olivier Giroud.

It is reported that the Premier League side are ready to satisfy the contract demands of the Frenchman. Olivier wants a long commitment from his potential club, with a deal at least until 2022 and €8m a season salary.

This stance from Palace may attract Giroud’s attention. Last week, the Serie A giants Inter Milanapproached Chelsea to discuss Olivier Giroud’s transfer. However, according to La Gazzetta, the Italians did not offer the contract terms suitable for the player. This might be the window of opportunity for Crystal Palace to exploit.

It’s understood that the Blues are ready to sell the striker whose contract expires in summer 2020. Granovskaia is rumoured to ask for €5-7 million for the transfer to take place in January. Meanwhile, Olivier Giroud is open to leave Chelsea as he wants to make Didier Deschamps’ France Euro 2020 squad.

Giroud has made 69 appearances and scored 19 goals ever since arriving at Stamford Bridge from Arsenal for an undisclosed fee in winter 2018. The striker has won two trophies with the Blues, including the previous season’s Europa League where he scored 11 goals and registered 5 assists in 14 games.
