been bought by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al
Maktoun for $4,365,000
The Sheikh said that though he never prepared
for the whopping money it went for, the horse is
his favourite.
The sold horse is said to have never missed and
is one of the most sought-after horses at the
bidding market it was sold in England
There are few expensive but not-so-very-popular
sports around the world, one of which is
horseracing. And Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al
Maktoun, spent about $4,365,000
(N1,580,130,000) on this year’s most expensive
horse in the world.
CNN reports that the purchase was made amidst
very tight bidding competition as the Sheikh had to
be at the Tattersalls October Yearling Sale in
Newmarket, England, on Tuesday, October 15, to
get the racing superstar.
