– Amrouche was dismissed in 2014 after a
humiliating loss to Lesotho
– The tactician, however, did not take the sacking
lightly and went on to sue FKF over wrongful
dismissal.
FIFA in a ruling has given the federation of Kenya football till the end
of October to pay the Belgian KSh 108 million or
face an ouster from AFCON qualifiers.
The Football Kenya Federation has been ordered to
pay KSh 108 million to former Harambee Stars
head coach Adel Amrouche for wrongful
termination.
Amrouche was sacked in 2014 in controversial
fashion by the then FKF president Sam Nyamweya
following a poor run of form and a disappointing
loss to Lesotho in a 2015 Africa Nations qualifier.
His war against the Kenya football governing body
was not over as he pursued justice further by
lodging an appeal at the Court of Arbitration for
Sport (CAS) in Lausanne for Sport in a bid to get
more money.
Nick Mwendwa, the FKF president, tried to appeal
the decision to pay the Belgian but lost the court
battle.
The new setback means the federation has until
the end October 2019 to compensate Amrouche or
face severe consequences.
