– Maradona has lost all games as Gimnasia
manager so far
– The Argentina legend took drastic action as he
decided to demote seven senior players to the
reserve
– Gimnasia will have another chance against
another lowly side Godoy Cruz in the weekend
New Ginmasia coach Diego Maradona might be
the greatest player to ever grace the beautiful
game but as a coach, things are a bit different.
Maradona has reportedly sent seven of his first
team players back to the reserves after a
nightmare start to his return to his native Argentine.
What started out as an emotional comeback for
Maradona has quickly morphed to something else
as his Gimnasia side have lost their opening three
games under the guidance of the 58-year-old.
The Sun reports that after the treble of torrid
results, the football legend resorted to drastic
measures as he sent senior players to the
reserves.
As it stands, Gimnasia’s fortunes have failed to
turn around and they have now lost seven games in
a row, with three losses coming under the
management of Maradona.
The seven players who have been axed include
Jonathan Chacon, Guillermo Enrique, Lucas
Miguez, Juan Cataldi, Khalil Caraballo, Eric Ramirez
and Lucas Calderon.
Their ousting from first team came as Gimnasia
prepare for a crucial game against second-bottom
Godoy Cruz at the weekend.
