Premier League Preview and Predictions(Game-Week 8)

Brighton vs. Tottenham

Date: 5/10/19Venue: Amex Stadium
Time: 12:30pm

Brighton’s already troubled season can’t get any
worse when they welcome Tottenham Hotspur at
the Amex in the opening game of the weekend.
The Seagulls have failed to score in successive
road matches, a run stretching 180 minutes’ barren
spell in front of goal.
However, against a Spurs team, who suffered a
humiliating UEFA Champions League midweek
defeat to Bayern Munich and were far from
convincing last weekend at home to Southampton,
we expect Brighton to score, but tip Tottenham to
win, thus extending their unbeaten record against
the Seagulls.

Prediction: Brighton 1 – 2 Tottenham

Burnley vs. Everton

Date: 5/10/19
Venue: Turf Moor
Time: 3:00pm

Everton’s poor run of form will be further put to
scrutiny as they travel away to face Burnley and if
they fail to halt their losing run, Marco Silva could
find himself out of a job before the end of the
international break.
The Clarets are unbeaten in their last three
successive matches, winning once at home in that
period, while for Everton they’re on a three-game
losing streak and have taken just one point on the
road this term.
While the Toffees enjoyed double success in the
league last term over the Clarets, that seems like a
tough call at this present moment, as we tip Burnley
for a third win of the campaign and Chris Woods to
net for a third game in succession.
Prediction: Burnley 1 – 2 Everton

Liverpool vs. Leicester City

Date: 5/10/19
Venue: Anfield
Time: 3:00pm

Liverpool and Leicester City face off at Anfield in
the game of the weekend involving number one and
three on the table.
Traditionally games between both teams are always
exciting and high scoring, and we don’t expect this
very one to be any different, particularly with
Liverpool on the verge of an eighth win on the row
this season.
The last time the Foxes visited Anfield in January,
Harry Maguire’s headed goal earned a vital road
point and they will be eyeing a repeat performance
of that feat considering their current form.
However, the Reds have found a way of grinding out
wins even if not in the most convincing fashion this
term (stuff of champions), but on this occasion we
expect Liverpool to outplay Leicester, with at least a
total of four goals scored between both teams and
maintain a healthy lead at the top heading into the
international break.

Prediction: Liverpool 3 – 1 Leicester

Norwich vs. Aston Villa

Date: 5/10/19
Venue: Carrow Road
Time: 3:00pm

Norwich City and Aston Villa meet in a fixture
involving two promoted teams at the start of the
season.
Both teams are struggling on the log, the Villains
occupying the first relegation spot, while the
Canaries are a spot above and will fancy taking
maximum advantage of playing at home to win only
for a third time this season.
Despite the expected absence of injured first-choice
goalkeeper Tim Krul, who will be replaced by
Michael McGovern, we expect Norwich to secure a
fourth straight victory against their opponents, goals
at both ends and the game should record a
minimum of three goals scored.
Prediction: Norwich 2 – 1 Villa

Watford vs. Sheffield United

Date: 5/10/19
Venue: Selhurst Park
Time: 3:00pm

Bottom club Watford’s season could either
experience a slight ray of hope or a further decline
as they welcome Sheffield United.
The Blades have been the surprise package of the
three promoted teams and impressively are
unbeaten in three previous away matches, earning
five valuable points in that period.
Things generally aren’t looking good for the
Hornets, particularly with the long-term injury
absence of captain and leader Troy Deeney.
We tip Sheffield to continue their terrific unbeaten
road form, but a score draw should settle this
fixture.
Prediction: Watford 1 – 1 Sheffield

West Ham vs. Crystal Palace

Date: 5/10/19
Venue: London Stadium
Time: 5:30pm

West Ham and Crystal Palace meet in a potentially
explosive London derby, the concluding fixture to
Saturday’s games.
The Hammers have impressed after a horrible start
to the season, unbeaten in six straight matches and
don’t look to be in danger of tasting defeat yet, at
least not to this opponent.
Despite the long-term injury enforced absence of
Lukasz Fabianski, West Ham should still be in good
company, but will miss the extra quality of the
Polish goalkeeper.
We expect to have another fierce derby game, at
least three goals to be scored, Andriy Yarmolenko
to extend his brilliant scoring form and West Ham
to potentially head into the international break in the
top four bracket.

Prediction: Hammers 2 – 1 Palace

Arsenal vs. Bournemouth

Date: 6/10/19
Venue: Emirates Stadium
Time 2:00pm

Arsenal and Bournemouth meet in potentially the
highest scoring fixture of the weekend at the
Emirates Stadium.
The Clarets have failed to keep a clean sheet this
season, all previous seven games recording goals
at both ends, the same fate befalling the Gunners
the exception been the opening game away win at
Newcastle United.
The strain of playing three games in six days might
just be too much for Arsenal to cope with, a
possible loophole for Bournemouth to capitalise
upon.
We tip the trio of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang,
Callum Wilson and Josh King to score for both
teams, a total minimum of four goals but this open
attacking game could well be hugely influenced by
yet another VAR decision, a regular feature this
season.

Prediction: Arsenal 3 – 2 Bournemouth

Man City vs. Wolverhampton

Date: 6/10/19
Venue: Etihad Stadium
Time: 2:00pm

Manchester City entertain Wolverhampton Wanderers
24 hours after fierce rivals Liverpool should have
played.
The champions have impressively managed to hold
forth in the absence of Aymeric Laporte but that
makeshift central defensive pairing of Nicolas
Otamendi and Fernandinho could face their biggest
test yet against a very mobile Wolves attack, led by
the elegant Raul Jimenez.
City will be stretched in the middle of the park
notably in the absence of Kevin De Bruyne, a major
loss to a game which should produce at least four
goals and a vital home win.

Prediction: City 3 – 1 Wolves

Southampton vs. Chelsea

Date: 6/10/19
Venue: Saint Mary’s Stadium
Time: 2:00pm

Chelsea face an interesting prospect of winning
back-to-back games for the first time this season
as they travel away to Southampton.
The Blues kept their first clean sheet of the season
last weekend, but shouldn’t harbour any hopes of
repeating that feat as the defence still lacks proper
organisation and will give in at least once to the
Saints’ pressure.
The game should be quite open, goals at both ends
but we tip Chelsea to secure a fourth consecutive
win on this ground.

Prediction: Saints 1 – 2 Chelsea

Newcastle United vs. Man Utd

Date: 6/10/19
Venue: Saint James’ Park
Time: 4:30pm

Newcastle United welcome Manchester United in a
game which could go either way and have dire
consequences.
The 10th-place Red Devils are aware anything
asides three points makes the season even further
difficult while the Magpies’ tough season could
become even more challenging if Watford wins,
which puts them level on points and they fail to do
the needful at home.
In light of Newcastle’s disastrous recent showing,
particularly last weekend, Manchester United should
edge what should be a largely uninspiring game.

Prediction: NUFC 0 – 1 Man Utd
